Approach:
In keeping with established Lego Star Wars marketing, I decided to create an ad campaign that felt similar to the box art and promotional art for the sets. Using imagery familiar to many Star Wars fans, the ad creates a sense of excitement with it's bold, fast paced energy and retro-futuristic technology.
Design:
In this design, the stimulating action in the scene is complimented by the bold and expressive text to set the tone. Using an existing planet that has featured an AT-TE in Star Wars media was very important to me. It places the theme for the audience and grounds the Lego set in the Star Wars universe. The strength and firepower of the AT-TE is complimented by its position, cresting over a hill and looking upwards defiantly against the enemy in the foreground. The debut character, Commander Cody makes his first appearance in this set and thus is centralized and staring directly at the viewer to draw attention. The Lego set comes with enough clone troopers and droids to fill out the rest of the ad, telling the audience that you can create a large battle scene with this set alone.
